Senior coach Liew Tong Ee said the competition was part of their preparation for the Malaysian Games (Sukma) in Sarawak next year.
“It was a good result considering all the states’ Sukma athletes were involved in the competition with the exception of Sarawak,” he said.
He added that the final squad will only be known after the third phase selection trial to be held in December.
