PAPAR: The State Government is very committed towards strengthening the education agenda in Sabah.

Yayasan Sabah Group Director, Datuk Seri Dr Ghulam Haidar Khan, said the government had established the Sabah State Education Fund (TPNS) to enable local children to have the opportunity to continue their studies to a higher level.

“This is the government’s best effort and approach to generate human capital in line with the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) direction.

“Through this TPNS, where the Sabah Foundation Group is the main driving force, the government will ensure that these facilities really reach the target group.

“Therefore, Sabah’s local children who are qualified but less fortunate, should take advantage of this facility, so that later Sabah can have high quality human capital in order to drive development in the future,” he said.

He also urged educators to focus on the quality aspect in developing an education agenda for children.

“As I always say, education is the basis for the development of the country.

“Therefore, education officers and educators bear a great responsibility in ensuring this goal is achieved.

“We should focus on the importance of quality as a competitive force in facing today’s global competitive world,” he said when officiating the 5th Graduation Ceremony of SMK Kinarut Session 2022/2023, here, on Saturday.

At the ceremony, Ghulam presented graduation certificates to 55 Form Six students, in addition to several other awards.

Among them, the STPM 2022/2023 Best Student Achievement Award to Nur Amiezah Amran, 20, who achieved 4.00 CGPA in the STPM exam.
