Heart of Borneo is facing many threats

Kota Kinabalu: The forests under the Heart of Borneo (HoB) are constantly under pressure from competing land use particularly agriculture, roads, other basic infrastructure, and of late mining, said Chief Conservator of Forests Datuk Frederick Kugan.
This, coupled with other contributing factors such as recession and climate change-related issues, are all real threats.
However, with political will and support efforts to identify remaining areas for Totally Protected Area (TPA) to meet the 30 per cent target would continue.
