'Set a good example': Muhyiddin told to ask son-in-law sought by MACC to return
Adlan Berhan (left) and Mansoor Saat have denied that they are on the run from the law.
PETALING JAYA: An Umno leader has urged former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin to ask his wanted son-in-law, Adlan Berhan, to return to Malaysia after being placed on Interpol’s Red Notice list.

Umno Supreme Council member Puad Zarkashi said Muhyiddin would be “setting a good example” in doing so, adding that Adlan has nothing to fear if he is not in the wrong.

“Muhyiddin should set a good example. Does he still want to become prime minister? Then he should tell his son-in-law to return.

“I challenge Muhyiddin to issue a statement (on Adlan being placed on Interpol’s Red Notice list). Don’t embarrass PN and its ‘caring, clean and stable’ motto,” he said in a Facebook post.

Last week, Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain confirmed that a Red Notice had been issued against both Adlan and lawyer Mansoor Saat, who are wanted by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

Adlan and Mansoor are being sought by MACC to assist in an investigation into a project involving the registration, recruitment and storage of foreign worker biometric data at a ministry.

MACC said they had left the country in May.

However, both Adlan and Mansoor subsequently issued statements through their lawyers denying that they are on the run from the law.
