Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (Shareda) urged the Federal Government to accord stamp duty exemption to all house buyers when drawing up the National Budget 2024 due on Oct 13.

“Shareda humbly requests the government to consider to continue the Home Ownership Initiative of giving the stamp duty exemption for the purchase of residential properties to benefit all house buyers and not restrictive to first-time homebuyers only,” said Benny Ng Su Pei, Shareda Organising Chairman of i-Miliki (Malaysian Home Ownership Initiative).

He said at his presentation on i-Miliki Stamp Duty Exemption at the PropEx2023 at the Sabah International convention Centre on Sept 2,

“As announced in the National Budget 2023, the Government will continue with the stamp duty exemption for first-time home ownership to encourage home ownership among the people.”
