First ever communal tower for interior launched in Keningau

KENINGAU: A communal tower (menara gunasama) was launched in Kg Bomboi here - the first of its kind in this interior district.
When officiating the launch here, Tuesday, State Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif said the tower was built based on new technology that allows all existing telcos to be used in one place.
“Previously, each tower was designated to one telco. This is the latest development in technological progress,” he told reporters when met after the tower’s launching ceremony.
The latest tower is part of seven in the pipeline within the Tulid constituency under National Digital Interconnection Plan (Jendela) initiative.
