RANAU: Six people managed to crawl out of their vehicle after it overturned and plunged into a ravine, near here, recently.
PBK I Derin bin Maridum said the incident happened in Kg Kimolohing Bawah Ranau at 5.14pm.

“A call was received through the Station Line and a group of seven personnel led by the Operations Commander, PBK II Becket Gumat, rushed to the location.
“Arriving at the scene 3km from the station, we found that there had been an accident involving a Perodua Myvi that had fallen into a 4m deep ravine.
“Six victims got out of the vehicle themselves before the arrival of the rescuers,” he said.
“After ensuring that there was no more danger, the operation ended at 5.31pm,” he said.

Meanwhile, he advised the public, especially road users, to be extra careful when driving on the road during the festive season.
“Currently the weather in the district is unpredictable. It could be clear in the morning, but raining cats and dogs in the evening onwards, and the roads are usually more slippery during those times.

“Be mindful of the limited visibility during rainy nights, especially in the village areas where there are no streetlights installed and the roads are narrower.
“Make sure the vehicles are working properly and headlights are working well,” he added.
