Kota Kinabalu: The State Government under the leadership of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) greatly appreciates the continuous support of the Chinese community who stand together with the Government as partners in every development sector, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
He said with the solid support of the communities, including the Chinese, the State is on the right track in bringing development under the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) roadmap.

“Our success is proven by the large revenue collection. The State Government will not be satisfied, but continue to bring more investment to the State which can create more economic spin-offs.
“The State Government also always emphasises on the principle of justice and care in all aspects to help all communities regardless of race and religion,” he said.
This year alone, Hajiji said, the State Government allocated a grant of RM54.05 million to Chinese and mission schools as well as non-Muslim religious bodies in Sabah.
“This commitment clearly shows the Government is sensitive to the needs of the community and is committed to help regardless of race or religion,” he said at the Federation of Sabah and Labuan Federal Territory Hokkien Associations’ 24th Central Committee and 6th Women’s Division Oath-taking Ceremony at Putera Ballroom in Bukit Padang, here, Sunday.

Hajiji wants the Chinese community in Sabah to continue working together with the Government to develop the State because many of them, including the Hokkien clan, are proven successful in businesses.

He said the Hokkien clan is the largest in the country and the second largest clan in Sabah after the Hakka clan.
The Chief Minister said efforts will be actively improved, including increasing investment opportunities, which can benefit various development sectors in Sabah.
“Here is the role of the Chinese community, including the Hokkien clan, by taking opportunities in the development sector in this State,” he said.
Hajiji also hopes the Hokkien community in Sabah under the leadership of Tan Sri TC Goh will continue to contribute to the economic development of the State.
“We are working hard to advance Sabah in terms of development and share wealth among all Sabahans regardless of race and religion,” he said.
