Kota Kinabalu: Senators from Sabah on Monday pledged full support to Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor to lead the State.

Datuk John Ambrose, who led the senators to pay a courtesy call on Hajiji at Pusat Pentadbiran Negeri Sabah (PPNS), said they agreed that Hajiji has performed well and has the vision to lead Sabah to greater heights.

Other senators in the delegation were Tan Sri Anifah Aman, Datuk Bobbey Suan, Datuk Noraini Idris and Noorita Sual. Ambrose and Bobbey are from Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah of which Hajiji is the President, while Anifah is the President of Parti Cinta Sabah, Noraini from Umno and Noorita from DAP.

“Despite taking over as Chief Minister only in 2020, Hajiji has proven his capabilities. Much has been achieved during the Hajiji administration under his Sabah Maju Jaya initiatives.

“When Hajiji took over as Chief Minister three years ago, it was during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic but he was able to achieve record revenues for the State in its 60-year history.

“Foreign investors are coming to Sabah and all these augur well for the development and future of the State,” said Ambrose.

He said Hajiji’s humble personality is also another plus point.

“He is fair to all, irrespective of their racial and religious backgrounds, thus ensuring Sabah and its people will continue to live in peace and harmony,” he said.

Ambrose said Hajiji is willing to work with anyone, including the opposition, for the betterment of the State and its people.

“I hope the political stability now enjoyed by Sabah under Hajiji would continue,” he said.

Ambrose also applauded Hajiji for leading the State Government in building good ties with the Federal Unity Government of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“Sabah is lagging behind the peninsula in many aspects and with good State-Federal relation, I’m confident Sabah can catch up in all aspects of development, especially infrastructures,” he said.

Ambrose said Hajiji and his Cabinet Ministers are working hard to solve issues such as electricity, water and roads affecting the people.

“These problems have been there for a very long time and Hajiji, together withthe relevant ministries and departments, are doing their level best to alleviate the situation with short-term as well as long-term plans,” he said.

Ambrose said the Senators from Sabah would continue to raise matters affecting the State that need the attention of the Federal Government.
