LABUAN: The Labuan Sikhs’ team emerged as the overall champions at the biennial 7th edition of the 3-day Borneo Sikhs Goodwill Games held in conjunction with Merdeka Day.
The host collected 20 points from the five games it participated namely futsal, volleyball, basketball, badminton and tug-of-war. Second spot went to Kuching (16.5 points) followed by Kota Kinabalu (14 points), Miri (11.5 points) and Brunei (10 points). About 200 participated in the event.

“All teams were good and put up a strong challenge, so I would say there were no winners or losers, homeground was an advantage for Labuan,” said chairman of Labuan Sikh Society Balvir Singh who was also the chairman of the organising committee for the games.
A gala dinner at a leading hotel was held to mark the end of the games and the 8th edition of it would be held in Kuching in 2025.
