400 youths clean up Tanjung Aru Beach

Kota Kinabalu: More than 400 youths from various NGOs took part in a beach clean-up in conjunction with Malaysia Day last weekend.

The NGOs involved were JCI Chapter Luyang, Moyog and Intan as well as youth movement of Majlis Belia & Sukan, Sabah (MBS).

Minister of Youth and Sports, Hannah Yeoh witnessed the programme at Tanjung Aru Beach, after which she proceed to witness another group at Happy Plastic Borneo and Carlsbot, a recycling centre at Tanjung Aru Marine Ecosystem (Tame).

“Sabah has beautiful and a number of good beaches. But sadly, as we walked along the beach side (Tg Aru), cigarette butts can be seen everywhere.
