Kuala Lumpur: Singer Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza revealed that she faced larynx problems while recording her latest album Sitism.

The 44-year-old said during a media event yesterday that faced with the slow recuperation of her vocals, she had made peace with the possibility of slowly losing her voice.

“It came to a point where i have accepted if Allah were to take voice.

“In my 40s, if my voice is rough, or hoarse, I’m ok”

“I’ll sing to the best of my ability. I’m always positive,” Siti told mStar.

As a result of her vocal complications, her 20th album Sitism, took around three months to complete.

Siti visited doctors multiple times which took quite a bit of time from her schedule.

“As a singer our voice is everything and I had many work commitments. So I just surrendered it all in prayer,” Siti said.

“Last Ramadan, I prayed in front of Kaabah for a speedy recovery.”

Siti added that she did not feel hurt by online commenters who say that her voice has changed or gotten worse.

“We need to remain thankful and positive and the rest I will do my best. This latest album is also the best that I can produce now.”

Sitism was released digitally on June 30 and is available on all streaming platforms.

The album contains the track Menjaga Cintamu from the soundtrack of Anwar: The Untold Story.
