Nusantara to benefit both nations: Consul-General

Rafail said collaborative efforts in trade and investment could create a win-win situation where Sabah could tap into Indonesia’s vast market and Indonesia could benefit from Sabah’s resources and strategic location.
Kota Kinabalu: Indonesians are looking forward to the new capital city of Nusantara next year and along with it more opportunities in the new environment.
Consul General of Indonesia in Kota Kinabalu, Rafail Walangitan, said the decision to move the capital city which is dubbed as Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) to Kalimantan would benefit and hold immense promise for both Sabah and Indonesia.
“It envisions a better future for both countries as a shining example of peaceful coexistence and regional cooperation,” he said at a diplomatic dinner reception to mark that nation’s 78th independence at Magellan, here.
It was attended by Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin, his consort Toh Puan Norlidah, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and his wife Datin Seri Julia Salag.
