Harvey Norman’s first Sabah outlet

Kota Kinabalu: Sabahans no longer need to head to the peninsula to shop at Harvey Norman with the opening of its first store in the State at Suria Sabah, Friday.

It is the 30th of the 80 stores nationwide target by 2028 and promises comfortable, conducive and immersive shopping on a wide range of electrical appliances, IT and mobile devices, furniture and bedding products.

Harvey Norman Asia Managing Director Kenneth Aruldoss said the superstore is dedicated to empower Sabahans with its seamless omni-channel shopping experience.

“We understand the needs of our customers and strive to bring convenience to their doorstep.

“We are setting out to further cement and enlarge the brand’s footprint in the country!” he said. 

Present were State Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Phoong Jin Zhe, Harvey Norman Asia Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Toh, Lead General Manager Eddy Ng, General Manager of Computers and Communications Division Danny Lau,  General Manager of Furniture Division Mark Mah,  General Manager of Electrical Division Ian Bushy Martin and Assistant General Manager of Small Appliances and Personal Care Division Yvonne Chin.

Kenneth said Harvey Norman is committed to being conveniently accessible to customers, with the inclusion of a plethora of services such as product exchange and easy payment options. 

These include payment flexibility with options such as 0% interest instalments for up to 36 months on all major banks’ credit cards. 

“For non-credit card holders, there are many other services available as well such as AEON Credit, eWallet payments (e.g. GrabPay, Boost) and Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) options (e.g. LatitudePay),” he said.

Meanwhile, Phoong said people nowadays are becoming more discerning and seek products that enhance their quality of life. 

“The demand for high-quality electrical appliances, IT and mobile devices, furniture and bedding products are on the rise, and Harvey Norman’s foray into East Malaysia proves an opportune and timely one.

For bedding, he said the people of Kota Kinabalu can choose from over 60 top mattress and bed frame brands including Sealy and Serta. 

“Customers can ‘Shop with Confidence’ knowing they have access to high-quality options from the very best brands, complemented by an array of customer-centric initiatives such as price guarantees, same-day delivery, product care options and a 14-day exchange. 

Harvey Norman has planned exciting activities during the official launch weekend from Sept 29 until Oct 1, 2023.

“Customers who spend any amount at the store will receive a free 360° CAM Session and experience the thrill of 360-degree interaction with the spinning camera. 

“By spending a minimum of RM300, customers can win attractive prizes including vouchers and collectibles, adding to the excitement of the grand opening celebrations.
