Kota Kinabalu: Sabah recorded a total of 853,100 tourist arrivals from January to June this year compared to 664,533 in the same period last year, indicating an uptick of 22 per cent, said Tourism Malaysia Director-General Datuk Dr Ammar Abd Ghapar.

“This latest statistic undeniably indicates a positive tourism growth for Sabah,” he said in his speech at the launch of the ‘‘Fly Borneo Specials Vol 1 – The Adventure Begins Here!” brochure at Sutera Harbour Marina, here, Friday.

Dr Ammar said the affordable “Fly Borneo Specials” holiday packages will further spur the tourism sector not just in Sabah but also Labuan and Sarawak.
