RANAU: The Malaysian Ministry of Health (KKM) aims for every senior citizen in the country to have more than 20 teeth at the age of 60 and above with a good quality of life.

Senior KKM Director (Dental Health) Dr Noormi Binti Othman said the elderly are a group that needs attention in terms of health aspects so that they continue to live more comfortably and enthusiastically to go about their daily routine.

“This is in line with the National Senior Citizen Policy and the National Senior Citizen Policy Action Plan whereby it is the government’s commitment towards creating independent, self-respecting and respected senior citizens and optimising their potential through healthy, positive, active, productive aging and supporting the improvement of well-being in the development of the country.
