RANAU: A woman cheated injuries when her Perodua vehicle crashed into a telephone pole near here, Sunday.

Head of BBP Ranau Station, PPgB Ridwan bin Mohd Taib, said the incident happened on Jalan Ranau-Tambunan near Kampung Peropot at 1.54pm.

“A call was received through the Balai Line about this incident and a group led by the Operations Commander, PBK II Becket Bin Gumat, rushed to the location.

“The 20-year-old local woman did not suffer any injuries and got out of the vehicle on her own, before the arrival of the fire brigade,” he said.

The firemen cut the car’s battery wire and after ensuring that there was no more danger, the operation ended at 2.20pm.

“After making sure there was no more danger, the operation ended at 9.50am,” he said.

He called on all motorists to be extra careful when driving across the district, especially on narrow and bending village roads.

“People are asked to be more careful when driving in rainy weather conditions as well as damaged or under-repaired roads.

“Always be attentive while on the road and give good cooperation to other road users. Do drive slowly especially when on uneven roads.

“Drive prudently and be sensitive to the surrounding conditions, because we all want to reach our destination safely and meet our beloved family,” he explained.
