Kudat MP says will support the right Gagasan Rakyat candidate

“For me, the party is a platform but the ones who will implement the policy (initiatives of the government party) in their respective areas are the candidates or even the people’s representatives,” Verdon said.
Kota Kinabalu: Independent Kudat Member of Parliament Datuk Verdon Bahanda said he would support Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) in Kudat in the coming state election (PRN) if the party nominates a good candidate.
He said Kudat needs a capable leader who genuinely works for the people because the area has long been lagging behind in many areas.

“If Gagasan Rakyat nominates the right candidate in my area (Kudat), it may be the best platform for me to support (Gagasan Rakyat in the next State Election).
“If that person (Gagasan Rakyat candidate) is suitable, then God willing, we will help the candidate to win,” he said when met at the Gagasan Rakyat annual assembly at the Sabah International Convention Centre, here, on Monday.
People’s representatives, according to Verdon, play a crucial role in implementing programmes or initiatives of the government party.
“The right candidate should be emphasised because if the people’s representatives are not transparent and sincere, any efforts by the party or the government to improve the people and the area will be undermined.
