RANAU: Another climber, this time a local female, suffered a complication while scaling Mount Kinabalu and had to be lifted down to safety by rescuers near here on Monday.

the incident happened at km 3.4 of the Mount Kinabalu climbing trail, at about 1.30pm.
The 33 year old victim who suffered extreme fatigue, had to be rescued by the Mount Kinabalu search and rescue team (Mosar) during the 6th incident of the month of November.
“The action of Mosar rescuers and the Malim Gunung was to bring the victim down using Robinson Stretcher to Timpohon Gate,” he said.
According to Ridwan, the victim was then taken by one of her friends for further action, and after ensuring all were safe and sound, the operation ended at 4.40pm.

The case on Monday was the 6th in November 2023 and the 45th victim of illness or injury on Mount Kinabalu so far this year.
