Wei Meng wins Srixon golf title

Kota Kinabalu: Sheo Wei Meng captured the Srixon Sabah Golf Tournament title held at the Dalit Bay Golf and Country Club in Tuaran recently.
He scored 42 points based on stableford play to beat Jonathan Leong (39) for the top prize followed by Mathew Thomas (38), Tony Jong (38), Adeka Anding Aganduk (38), Chung Kai Ming (37), Razeki Rashid (37), Amirul Hisamudin Roslan (37), Jason Lee Zhen Yeap (37) and Eric Tsang Yuk Chuen (37).
ADVERTISEMENT A total of 100 golfers took part in the competition organised by F & T Custom Club Fitting Sdn Bhd.
Dunlop Srixon Sports Asia Sdn Bhd managing director Takuya Ono was pleased with the positive response from the participants.
He said the tournament was held to carry out their corporate social responsibility by offering competition to the locals.
He also expressed his gratitude to F & T for organising the tournament.

Meanwhile, Mathew Thomas from Kudat Golf Club and Julian Gugau from Tambunan Golf Club became the first two Bumiputeras here to qualify as Malaysia Golf Association (MGA) referees.
They passed their second apprenticeship at the 37th Sabah Amateur Open in September and they also attended the R & A MGA Rules seminar recently.

Their first assignment was at the Sportexcel-Alpha Sabah Malaysian Junior Golf Championship held at Sabah Golf and Country Club a week ago.
