Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor wants the Federal Government to ensure that medical facilities in Sabah are at an optimal level.

He said that the State Government is also aware that the equipment in the hospital has exceeded its operational lifespan and wants it to be replaced with new medical equipment to meet the needs of various new service disciplines.

“It is the desire of the State Government to see more medical facilities and specialist hospitals developed with the addition of specialist doctors so that the people of this country can enjoy more comfortable and effective medical facilities.

“This includes the improvement and upgrading of public health clinics in Sabah because this will be able to provide better services specifically for the rural communities of the state,” he said at the 2023 Sedafiat Awards Ceremony at The Grand Ballroom, Magellan Sutera Harbor on Monday.

He said in an effort to ensure that the health sector in the state continues to improve, the state government welcomes the 2024 Budget presented by the Prime Minister last October, which allocates RM150 million to build five new health clinics, including on Pulau Mantanani, Kota Belud.

“Indeed, the concern of the Federal Government is greatly appreciated because this facility has been long awaited by the residents of the island,” he said.

Hajiji said Sedafiat Sdn. Bhd has played a very important role as a leading support service company in hospitals to ensure that the people of this state get good health facilities while also being able to contribute to productivity.

He said as the leader of the support service at the hospital, it is the responsibility of the people of Sedafiat to work with the government to provide the best services to the people, in addition to constantly improving the company’s governance.

“I congratulate Sedafiat for implementing the Sedafiat Technology Innovation & Creativity (STIC) Programme, which is able to provide productivity and high-quality work to further improve the delivery of the company’s services to the community,” he stressed.

According to him, throughout his service, the company has provided excellent service to the extent of receiving several awards, including the Outstanding Performance of Hospital Support Services rated five stars from the Ministry of Health Malaysia for six consecutive years from 2018 to 2023, Sabah Top Achievers Award 2019 (Industry Excellence in Hospital Support Services) in 2019, Malaysia Top Achievers Award 2019 (Industry Excellence in Hospital Support Services) in 2019, The Brand Laureate 2022 Bumiputera Best Brands Awards in 2022 and The Brand Laureate 2022-2023 Ceo Of The Year Integrated Facility Management in 2023.

Hajiji said the Sedafiat Sports Carnival programme, which was attended by 380 staff members, shows that the people of Sedafiat care about their health, physique and environment to achieve quality work.
