The teenager had raped the 14-year-old girl between 11pm on Jan 18 and 12.30am the next day at a housing estate in Kudat. The offence under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to 20 years and whipping, on conviction.
Kota Kinabalu: An 18-year-old offender was sent to the Henry Gurney School until he reaches 21 for raping an underaged girl.

Sessions Court Judge Elsie Primus made the order against the teenager who pleaded guilty.

The court stated that in view of the circumstances of the case as well as the social report, the court ordered the boy to be sent to the correctional school until he reaches 21 pursuant to Section 9(1) (f) of the Child Act 2001.

The teenager had raped the 14-year-old girl between 11pm on Jan 18 and 12.30am the next day at a housing estate in Kudat.

The offence under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to 20 years and whipping, on conviction.

The court heard that the rape incident came to light when the victim’s parents realised the change of her attitude.

After talking to the victim, she told her parents that she was raped by a boy whom she knew. The parents lodged a police report and the teenager was arrested.

The victim was sent to hospital and confirmed that there was an old tear in her hymen.
