KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Fisheries Department has issued a warning notice against the consumption of shellfish from Kota Kinabalu waters.
The Department has detected a positive Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning (PSP) case in Likas Bay that exceeded the danger level that causes the shellfish to become poisonous and may affect public health.

“As a precautionary measure, the public is advised not to collect or consume shellfish from the said area,” said Sabah Fisheries Director Azhar Kassim in a statement Saturday.
Azhar said the Department would continue to monitor the situation.
