Verify status of Telipok construction, authorities urged
The fencing and gate built on the foreshore area.
Kota Kinabalu: Landowners in Teluk Salut Kg Melawa, Telipok, had on Sunday called on the local authority to inspect and verify the status of an ongoing construction on the foreshore area that borders their property. 

They claimed to have raised their concern regarding the construction of fencing and gates on the foreshore area months earlier. 

“We hope relevant authorities will look into the structures (fencing and gate) built on the foreshore area, which is a riparian reserve (State Land),” they said. 

They claimed that the fencing and gate was built right in front of their land, thus preventing them from entering the foreshore area which is an open space and supposed to be open for public enjoyment.

“We hope prompt action will be taken and that the fencing and gate be removed.”
