Suspected break-ins: Man, woman detained in Beaufort
According to Ismail the two locals in their 20s were apprehended on Friday between 6.45am and 7.50am.
BEAUFORT: A man and a woman were detained on suspicion of being responsible for several break-ins in the district. 

According to District Police Chief DSP Ismail Abdullah, the two locals in their 20s were apprehended on Friday between 6.45am and 7.50am.

He said the arrest followed reports of break-ins at Flash Express Beaufort Square and Ninso Beaufort. 

He said the premises’ doors were dismantled and that the suspects ransacked the premises.

A handphone, several parcels, a laptop and three scanners were reported missing from both locations. 

On Saturday at 4.30am, another break-in was reported at the Survey Express Kuala Penyu, with 10 packs of various cigarette brands missing.

Police also confiscated a vehicle believed used in the break-in spree. 

With the arrest of the duo, police believed they had solved three break-ins in Pekan Beaufort and Kuala Penyu. They are currently looking for two more people to assist with investigations.
