RANAU: A family here was left homeless in a fire on Sunday.

Head of Ranau District Fire and Rescue Station, PPgB Ridwan Bin Mohd Taib said the incident happened at Kg Napong 1, Ranau at 10.50am.

“Arriving at the scene which is located 17.6 km from the station, we found a two-storey semi-permanent house 90 per cent burnt.

He advised the public to be more cautious of fire incidents, especially during the current windy season.

“If there is any open burning that cannot be avoided, it must be monitored and controlled, in order to prevent the spread of fire to nearby areas,” he said.

According to Ridwan, any Fire emergency or Special services can contact Bomba Ranau at 24 hours (088-878779), hotline at 019-2449348 or dial 999.
