KENINGAU: The man suspected of setting his wife on fire in Kg Tingalan, Sook, which resulted in her death was charged in the Sessions Court, here, Thursday.
The charge was read before Keningau Sessions Court Judge Marlina Ibrahim.
Patersius Juliteh @ Julit, 50, was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code with killing Sansiah Tinggian, 41, in house in Kg Tingalan on Feb. 2 at 11pm.
No plead was taken by the Deputy Public Prosecutor.
The case would be mentioned on March 14. The accused arrived at the Court at 10am accompanied by police officials.
It was earlier reported that a woman died after her husband allegedly set her on fire during an argument while drinking Tapai at their house.

Initial police investigations found that the husband and wife were in an intoxicated state when an argument broke out.
It got out of hand when the wife reportedly challenged her husband to set her on fire after he threatened to do so.

The couple’s 16-year-old daughter tried to put out the flames on her mother’s body before getting help from her uncle.
However, the victim was confirmed dead at the hospital at 1.41pm a day later.
