LABUAN: The Chairman of the Labuan Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Datuk Wong Kii Yii, regretted that Labuan doesn’t seem to be in the radar of the Ministry of Transport.
The island seemed to always be omitted when the Ministry arranged for lower airfares in the KL-East Malaysia sector during festive season, he said, appealing to Dr Zaliha Mustafa, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), to intervene.

Wong was referring to the lower fixed one-way fares of AirAsia flights to Sabah and Sarawak for the Chinese New Year period from Jan 5 to Feb 15.
During the period the fare was locked at RM348 (one-way) from KL to Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan and Tawau while for Sarawak it was set at RM298 for Kuching, Bintulu and Miri.
