Swimming: Loh sole Sabahan in national squad
Loh will be making his second appearance for the national team.
Kota Kinabalu: State swimmer Emmanuel Loh Yung Ming will be taking part in the 11th Asian Age Group Championships 2023 at New Clark City, Philippines starting today (Monday).

The Kota Kinabalu lad coached by Tie Mie Kiong is the sole Sabahan in the 29-member national squad selected by Malaysia Aquatics to compete in the four-day competition.

It will be his second appearance for the national team following his debut in the 44th South East Asia Age Group Championship 2022 in Kuala Lumpur.

Sabah Aquatic Sports Association (Sasa) president Daniel Lee in a statement released Sunday congratulated the 15-year-old swimmer and is confident Emmanuel will do his best for the country.

“We are very proud of him being selected to represent the country in this prestigious regional event.

“This Asian Age Group will witness the best in the Asian region and is an event held under the auspices of Asia Aquatics, and we believe he will give his all for the country at this championship,” he said.

He also extended his congratulation to Tie for her latest achievement and praised her dedication for the sport.

Daniel also thanked Malaysia Aquatics for their decision to form the team as well as the Youth and Sports Ministry and Sabah Sports Council for their unwavering support over the years, and vowed the State body will continue to work closely with them to develop the sport further.
