Watch controversy: School responds. Tshung Tsin says unfair to label it and other independent school as for the rich

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Tshung Tsin Secondary School Principal Chung Chin Hing regrets the negative comments in social media over one of its students who wore a branded watch to school.

In the “Rolex watch” incident, a 13-year-old became a target of cyberbullying when a photo of him wearing the watch during orientation week was posted on the school’s Facebook page.

Chung said social media users should “stop making distorted comments” on the matter.

“The recent student watch incident caused heated discussions.
