‘Don’t delay on 40pc tax returns’

Jonathan hoped that the MA63 Technical Committee Meeting that would consider, discuss and decide on this matter this year and take into account the years of loss of payment of this 40pc especially from 1974 to 2021.
RANAU: Ranau Member of Parliament Datuk Jonathan Yasin said it is very important for the Federal Government to resolve as soon as possible the dispute that has been going on for the past 60 years over the 40pc tax owed to the State.
“This year is an important year for Sabah because the people are waiting for the Federal Government’s decision on the matter that was agreed in the Malaysia Agreement (MA63).
“This matter is enshrined in the Constitution and since 2018 I have consistently touched on this matter. From age 23 years after leaving university when I entered politics, I have been talking about this matter for over 30 years until I entered parliament.
