PENAMPANG: The Road Transport Department (RTD) will set up the Training Branch Unit specifically for Sabah and Sarawak to increase awareness on integrity.
Its Deputy Director General of Management Ibrahim Mohd Yusof said integrity is something that is always emphasised and the main purpose of establishing the unit is to provide training related to integrity.
“RTD always strives to ensure that officers comply with the work procedures and regulations that have been set when carrying out their duties,” he said at the Sabah RTD Ramadan Iftar Ceremony 2024 at the Baiturrahman Mosque.
During the event, Ibrahim also presented donation to 41 recipients as well as a van to Maahad Tahfiz Darul Furqon.
He said RTD is planning to build another academy to make it easier for officers in Sabah and Sarawak to attend training so that they have the opportunity to improve their skills and efficiency.
“RTD sees the need to build an academy in the Borneo region since the cost of sending officers to undergo training in the peninsula is quite high,” he added.
Currently, the RTD Academy is only in Peninsula - Malacca, Johor, Langkawi and Kelantan.
