PENAMPANG: A group calling themselves “Concerned Original Sabahans” called on fellow Sabahans to wake up and demand the Government stop all racism and religious extremism, such as what happened to KK Mart, slowly affecting the peaceful cultures of Sabah.
The impromptu gathering at Donggongon of Kadazans, Dusun, Murut, Lundayeh, Chinese and Sino who donned their symbolic shirts also demanded the State Government and the State Assembly take steps to ban all extremists from entering Sabah and to prosecute those, including preachers, who incite hatred and religious disharmony.
Spokesman Edwin Jomiji also asked where are the promises given during the signing of the Malaysia Agreement 1963, claiming the three Points written on the Batu Sumpah have all been breached.
“Our forefathers and leaders fought for this land with a mission and vision, to ensure bright future and equal opportunities to our generations in education, employment, economy, security and religious freedom. But now we are going in the wrong direction,” he said.
