LABUAN: The ghost town-like situation with thousands fleeing the island for Hari Raya is a good enough indicator why the proposed multi-billion ringgit bridge will be a colossal waste of funds, according to residents.
Labuan Marine Department reported that 19 additional roro-ro ferries trips were approved on the Labuan-Menumbok route from April 5 to 9 as many preferred to spend time on the mainland.
Former Harrisons Trading manager Sim Tiak Khoon said this has always been the case on the island with every long holiday.
