Kota Kinabalu: Former Chief Minister Tan Sri Harris Mohd Salleh hopes the Madani Federal Government will approve, in principle, the much-debated Labuan bridge, estimated to cost several billion ringgit.
He believes it would contribute to the development of the island and Sabah.
The island is reeling from economic decline ever since colonial-era duty free privileges were scrapped by the previous Federal administration, among others.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar had earlier said the country was faced with other more pressing development priorities.
