RANAU: A local in his 40s who is believed to have murdered his uncle and set fire to the body in a forest area near here was arrested.
The arrest was made following a report from one of the victim’s family members who found burnt bone fragments in the forest area behind an unnumbered house in Kg Kipaliu.
Ranau District Police Chief DSP Simiun Lomudin said the case was classified as murder and investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
“All the bone fragments will be sent to the Kota Kinabalu Chemistry Department for the purpose of DNA analysis,” he said.
The suspect aged between 48 and 50.
