Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor received a courtesy visit from the Initiator of Essay Poetry and Asean Essay Poetry Community Advisor Denny JA at his official residence Sri Gaya, here, Monday.
Denny is the Founder of the Indonesian Survey Board and an Indonesian Political Consultant.

He is famous for writing essay poetry through his book “In the Name of Love”.
He has published more than 100 poetry books in Indonesia and Southeast Asia based on the new genre of essay poetry.
Denny was accompanied by the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) Board of Directors Member Datuk Jasni Matlani, who is also the President of Sabah Language Body and DBP Sabah Branch Director Aminah Awang Besar.
Denny said the courtesy call was to thank Hajiji and the State Government for helping implement the Essay Poetry Festival programme over the past few years.

“We also invite the Chief Minister to launch the Essay Poetry Festival in Kota Kinabalu on June 7, 2024,” said Jasni.
On the same day, the Chief Minister also received a visit from the Sabah Bugis Community Association (PKBS) Supreme Council led by its President Prof Dr Hajah Arsiah Bahron.

He was briefed on the programmes and activities that have been and will be implemented by the association.
