BEAUFORT: State Community Development and People’s Wellbeing Minister Datuk James Ratib handed over appointment letters to 11 members of the Board of Visitors (BOV) of the Taman Didikan Kanak-Kanak Kurang Upaya (TDKKU), here, recently.
The Board of Visitors comprised Yunus Rajah, Ahmad Apong, Azalan Rizwan Zaman, Dayang Surimah Mohd Karim, Farziah Hatikah Rahmatullah, Jessica Jupinah Embu, Mat Bidin Abd Sani, Jislim Latip, Rasmat Nawi, Siti Alija Moktar and Yunus Marjan.

Sabah Social Welfare Department (JPKA) Deputy Director (Operations), Ali Hassan Kahar, said he hoped they will fulfil their duties and responsibilities to empower the centre towards a better direction while providing support to the parents.
“We should strive to be a loving society as expected by Government and accept the children with disabilities (OKU) into society without sidelining them,” Ali said.
His speech was delivered by JPKA Assistant Director Bani Irman Matin.
“The OKU children are a gift from God for their parents. They have hopes and ambitions. Therefore, society should accept them with a sincere heart,” Ali said.
At the ceremony, Yunus Rajah was elected as the Chairman, Yunus Marjan as his Deputy.
There are 13 OKU children placed there.
Also present at the event was the TDKKU Superintendent, Norbaya Maidin.
