Kota Kinabalu: A 47-year-old teaching staff of a training institution was charged in the Magistrate’s Court here with intruding into the privacy of a woman with the intention to insult her modesty.
Jamal Ladau pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Wan Farrah Farriza Wan Ghazali to committing the offence against the woman by sending indecent photo with indecent words with the intention of those things being read in the WhatsApp Group.

Jamal allegedly committed the offence under Section 509 of the Penal Code on Feb 16, this year, at 5pm at Cybercity area in Penampang.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Ling Guong Zhin in applying for a new mention date, proposed bail at RM3,000.
Jamal, who was not represented, applied a lower bail amount.
The Magistrate set June 11 for case management and released Jamal on a bail of RM2,500 in two sureties.

In another case, a part-time runner was fined RM2,000 or two months jail for stealing.
Lius K.K. Linggi, 58, admitted to stealing 96 rods of Y12 iron belonging to the Apcol Pailing company on May 5, at 1.10pm at the construction site in Putatan.

The charge under Section 379 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to seven years or fine or both on conviction.
Earlier, the court was informed by the prosecution that Lius was seen by the complainant moving the iron rods into his car and speeding off.
The estimated loss was approximately RM3,500, said the prosecution.
Lius was arrested by police on May 6 following a police report.
