Getting more Sabahans to take up pickleball
The Sabah pickleball team that took part in the Miri tournament.
Kota Kinabalu: Pickleball may be a new sport in Sabah but is it gaining popularity as the next sports item, thanks to the effort of Sabah Pickleball Association (Sapa) spearheaded by a group of skilful and motivated members who aim to turn it into a sport for all.

And what better way to promote it by organising an inaugural tournament where players could display their remarkable skills and physical agility. 

Sapa Vice President Robert JH Chiang said pickleball in Sabah started about three years ago and initially several competitions were initiated among its members to kickstart the game’s interest.

“Recently, Sabah teams gained experience competing in a competition in Sarawak.
