RANAU: A 25-year-old local female became the 10th victim to suffer complications while climbing Mount Kinabalu this year after she suffered from stomach pain on Tuesday.

Ranau Fire and Rescue Department Chief Ridwan Mohd Taib said the incident happened at Km 2, Mount Kinabalu, at 2pm.

He said the case was the third for this month.

In January, three climbers suffered various injuries while climbing Mount Kinabalu while February and March recorded two cases, respectively. No cases were reported in April.

Ridwan reiterated his advice to all future climbers to take a serious assessment of their health before climbing Mount Kinabalu.
