Kota Kinabalu: Recalling previous election results, Parti Warisan said it’s possible to see a single party winning again in future Sabah elections.
Its President Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Aqdal said the possibility of a single party winning in the polls is not far from reality and pointed to Sabah’s political history, where the State was once ruled by a single party for 20 years.
Shafie said the State had previously chosen a single party to govern, such as Parti Bersatu Rakyat Jelata Sabah (Berjaya) for 10 years and Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) for another 10 years.
“The decision ultimately lies with Sabah voters on whether they prefer multiple parties or a single party to lead the State,” he said, adding a single party can effectively govern Sabah even without a coalition.
