Tenom: The Kaamatan Festival has a lot of meaning, especially for the Kadazandusun, Murut and Rungus (KDMR), in particular, and all the people of Sabah in general.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the festival celebrated every year in May was not only aimed at strengthening friendship and unity but also to express gratitude for a good harvest.
“Indeed, the Kaamatan Festival is a manifestation of the harmony and goodwill of the community in Sabah to live peacefully and united despite being made up of multiple races, ethnicities, religions and beliefs.
