KOTA BARU: Kelantan FC has denied that the resignations of its deputy president Zamri Ismail and CEO Wan Mohd Zul Ikman were due to salary issues or the club’s recent back-to-back losses in the Super League.

The club’s president Rozi Muhamad said the resignations were part of a routine procedure, with the two officials seeking to prioritise other important tasks, Bernama reported.

“Their plans to resign had been in the making for the past few months, but I did not allow it because at that time, the club’s branding matters had to be resolved first,” he said in a statement today.

Rozi also said their departures were not prompted by salary issues as all players and staff received their salaries on time.

“As for the recent losses in the Super League, the season has only started with two games. Even if we lost both games, it would be ridiculous to resign because of (sporting outcomes),” he said.

“Their departure is a big loss to both me and the club because they have been instrumental in Kelantan FC’s development, but we have to respect their decision to step down.”

Despite the loss of two key officials, Rozi maintained that the club’s progress and management would remain unaffected, including its focus on the Malaysian League season 2024/2025.
