Magistrate Nadratun Naiem Zainan ordered them to be jailed for three days if they failed to pay the fine, Sinar Harian reported.
They were charged under Section 336 of the Penal Code, read with Section 34 of the same law, which provides for up to three months’ imprisonment, a RM500 fine, or both.
Deputy public prosecutor Zamharir Zuhid asked the court to mete out a punishment proportionate to the offence to serve as a lesson to others.
The accused then asked for a low fine amount, saying they had to look after their parents and siblings.
