Kota Kinabalu: The Kaamatan International Week represents a significant advancement in promoting mutual respect among diverse cultural groups globally.
Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan said that the inaugural event was also part of the Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association’s (KDCA) initiative to internationalise the Kaamatan celebration.

“As we gather here, we are reminded that this celebration is not just about festivities, it is also about fostering dialogue and understanding among cultures.
It is fitting that our International Week of Kaamatan coincides with World Dialogue Cultural Diversity Day, for it underscores the importance of such exchanges in today’s interconnected world,” he said he said when launching the programme at the Hongkod Koisaan, Penampang, recently.
