Bootcamp on digital skills
Award Ceremony for the Best Digital Workforce Group.
Kota Kinabalu: The Digital Workforce Course Bootcamp offers students the opportunity to connect with industry professionals in the digital workforce, providing them with a better understanding of the practical applications of outsourcing. 

Organised by Universiti Teknologi MARA (Uitm), Sabah branch, the bootcamp took place from May 17 to 19, 2024, at the Klagan Regency Hotel. It was spearheaded by Associate Professor Dr. Noorziah binti Mohd Salleh and Dg Kamisah Ag Budin, lecturers teaching the subject for the current semester.

Noorziah said the primary objective of the boot camp was to equip students with the requisite skills for success in this industry.

“The bootcamp provided hands-on experience with project management tools and simulated real-world scenarios, which enhanced both technical and soft skills, including communication and teamwork,” she said in a statement.

The event concluded with a panel discussion featuring Janaith Lee, who held the position of representative for the Employees’ Provident Fund of Kota Kinabalu.

Noorziah said the insights shared during the discussion played a pivotal role in augmenting the students’ comprehension of the organisation’s salary savings policies.

Asha Noorsherryns Salan, a student designated as a champion of the course, expressed her conviction that the training had a transformative impact on her.

Another student, Savio Solidon Sipaul, who emerged as a champion and recipient of the Most Active Student award, said the bootcamp provided him with the necessary knowledge, skills, and connections to excel in the ever-evolving realm of outsourcing.

The attendees of the bootcamp were profoundly motivated by the discourse on innovation and perseverance delivered by the esteemed digital workforce specialists who were invited as guest speakers. 

Also present were MDEC trainers, namely Eravan Serri, Amierul Syafiq Md Azhar, Tillandran, and Istiqlal Ismail.
