Kota Kinabalu: A total of 33 homestay operators from Sabah’s West Coast gathered at University Malaysia Sabah for the first series of the Homestay Entrepreneur Development Programme with AI Marketing and Entrepreneurship recently.
They were Ismail Muile from Homestay Taun Gusi, Kota Belud, Poulyou Gapis from Homestay Coordinator Id Kalangadan, Inanam, Emalia Rabin @ Kinsung from Homestay Desa Cinta Kobuni, Inanam, Alexius Sagun from Homestay Aki Nablau, Kota Belud, Samion @ Simon Lungan from Homestay Walai Dati Koduko, Sudin Yusof from Homestay Darau Wetland, Scholastica Goyol from Homestay I’d Pogimpaan and Moenes Jendili, Penampang Homestay coordinator representative.
The homestay entrepreneurs were given in-depth guidance and training on digital marketing strategies based on AI (Artificial Intelligence) as well as creative and innovative entrepreneurial methods.
They were taught to adapt technology in increasing the visibility and effectiveness of marketing to promote their homestay.
PPIB Dean, Associate Professor Dr. Lai Yew Meng stressed it was, stated how important digital marketing is in expanding the market and increasing income in the homestay industry.
