RANAU: The beginning of the rainy season poses a challenge to climbers of Mount Kinabalu as tracks became more slippery.

Hence, Ranau Fire and Rescue Chief, Ridwan Mohd Taib, advised that climbers make a serious assessment of their health before climbing.

There must be mental and physical preparation and only bring along suitable and necessary items.

“Always climb in groups, don’t walk alone and make sure to be attentive to what the guides advise us. This is so important in order to avoid any untoward incidents,” he said.

When it comes to skincare, the first thought on our minds would be beauty products such as serums, creams, and masks. However, beauty experts and even researchers have stated that drinking more water can be just as crucial for your skin's health.
Last Sunday, a 38-year-old local woman became the 15th victim to suffer complications while climbing, this year, after she suffered from sprained left ankle.

Ridwan said the incident happened at KM6 of the Mount Kinabalu climbing trail, at about 9am.
