Kota Kinabalu: Polytechnic Kota Kinabalu students had the opportunity to be familiar with mangrove ecosystem preservation efforts recently.
This was made possible by Polytechnic Kota Kinabalu in collaboration with the Sabah Wetlands Conservation Society at the Sulaman Lake Forest.
Themed “JPH-PKK Cares for Nature: Invigorating Volunteerism Through Mangrove Conservation,” the programme aimed to contribute to mangrove conservation while aligning with the Malaysia Education Blueprint’s goal of producing well-rounded, entrepreneurial graduates who support sustainable development initiatives.
Programme Coordinator Senior Lecturer Meltina Masanti said the programme strengthened inclusivity among students by involving various student groups, including those from the Special Skills Certificate programme, as well as Diploma in Resort Management and Diploma in Hotel Management students, providing equal opportunities for learning experiences.
